Dr Fiona Lattimer started Ebor Psychology Service in response to requests from families and schools for timely, child-centred and responsive support for children who have emotional and psychological needs.

She has recently been joined by Dr Robert Caswell. They have extensive experience of working with children, young people and their families with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. They have both worked in the NHS, voluntary and private sector for over 15 years in a variety of settings including schools, Child and Adolescent Mental Health services (CAMHS), children’s hospitals and specialist assessment units.

As a Clinical Psychologists, Dr Lattimer  and Dr Caswell are trained in a variety of psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), solution focused approaches, interpersonal therapy (IPT), behaviour therapy and systemic approaches. They adopt an integrative, collaborative approach which means they draw on elements from more than one therapeutic model chosen to suit the individual needs of the client. They recognise the importance of developing positive therapeutic relationships with children, their families and professionals, working closely with them to achieve the client’s goals for change.

Dr Lattimer and Dr Caswell are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) which is requirement for all Practitioner Psychologists in the UK. In addition, Dr Lattimer is also a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with The British Psychological Society.

They are Approved Providers with several health insurance companies (including BUPA, Aviva, AXA PPP and WPA) so assessments and therapeutic work may be covered by clients’ insurance policies. 

As required, the service draws upon the skills other health professionals to assist in delivering joint assessments, interventions and training. They have close links with a local Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist and allied health professionals (including Speech and Language Therapists and Mental Health Nurses) should a multi-disciplinary approach be needed.
