Ebor Psychology Service is an independent Clinical Psychology practice based in York led by Dr Fiona Lattimer and Dr Robert Caswell. The service specialises in delivering assessments and therapeutic working with children, young people and their families. The service also specialises in working with the professionals involved in caring for, or educating children and young people to enable them to support their emotional and psychological needs.

We are a group of Clinical Psychologists with several years experience of working with children, young people and their families in the NHS, the voluntary and private sector. We have developed expertise in the emotional and psychological well-being of this client group through work in a range of settings including child and adolescent mental health units, children’s hospitals and specialist assessment units.

We are trained in several psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused and Systemic approaches. Generally we adopt an integrative therapeutic approach in our work which means that we can draw on elements from more than one therapeutic model, chosen to suit the individual needs of the client we are working with. In addition to Clinical Psychology training and experience, we have undertaken further training in specialist parenting interventions, Autism Spectrum Condition assessment, Interpersonal Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with Children and group work.

We see one of our main strengths as being able to develop positive therapeutic relationships with children, their families and professionals working closely with them to achieve their clients’ goals for change. Dr Fiona Lattimer is a full member of the British Psychological Society and a member of the Division of Clinical Psychology. This involves following the society’s code of conduct. Furthermore, we are both registered with the Health Professions Council, a requirement for all Practitioner Psychologists in the UK.

We offer comprehensive assessment of a range of emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties including anxiety, eating difficulties, low mood, obsessive compulsive difficulties, adjustment to physical health problems and loss/bereavement. We can also screen and assess for Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Attention/Hyperactivity problems.
